Little Candace Flynn swung herself on the swing slightly. She sighed and stare at their house. She's bored to death. Sure, she have all the toys any girls would want, but it's not what she wants. She hates being alone. Everyday, her mom would clean the house and she would be whisked away at the backyard to play. Her dad would go to work and will come home when it's almost night.

Night time is Candace's favorite time of the day. It's the only time of the day when mom and dad would play with her and hugged her and kiss her and tell her that she's the most beautiful treasure any of them can ever have. But when it's day time, all she have for company is her Ducky Momo doll.

But starting today, everything will change. Mom and Dad will come home with her baby sister. Candace watched as mom's tummy became bigger and bigger as time passed by. Mom said that inside her tummy is a baby. She explained to Candace how a baby grows inside it's mom's tummy. Fascinated, Candace used to put her hands on her mom's tummy just to feel the baby move inside. Candace prayed to God everyday for the baby to be safe and healthy and for it to be a girl.  She prayed for the baby to be a beautiful treasure just like she is for both mom and dad. She promised that she would be a good sister and will always love the baby with all her heart.

Peep!! Peep!!

From the front of the house, a sound of a car horn echoed in the backyard. Candace quickly jumped from the swing and ran as fast as her little feet could carry her.

"Candace, Honey," said a woman's voice. She look behind her and saw her grandmother coming out of the house.

"Gramma Betty!" she said excitedly while jumping up and down and pointing at the red car. "Mom and Dad are here! They're with my baby sister!!"

Betty Jo laughed as she took Candace's hand. "Now, now, dear. We still don't know if it's a girl or a boy."

"It's a girl. I know it!" she began pulling her grand mother towards the car."C'mon!"

Betty Jo let herself get dragged by her five-year-old grand daughter towards the car.

A tall man with massive triangular head, red hair, and light, intelligent blue eyes got out of the car. His face broke out in a smile when he saw the little girl running towards him eagerly. He crouched down and opened up his arms wide for Candace.

As he expected, Candace ran straight up to his arms. He chuckled as Candace look up to him with a smile as brilliant as the sun.

"Hi there, sweetie," Francis Flynn ruffled his daughter's long red-orange hair.

"Daddy, where's my baby sister?" she asked immediately.

Francis didn't answer. He just smiled mysteriously at her. Candace scowled. She knows that look. It's when her dad wants her to find out something all by herself. She crossed her arms and stomped her foot on the ground.

"Where is she?!" she demanded.

But Francis only smiled wider. Furious, Candace marched back towards the house. Francis and Betty Jo watched her go, both chuckling.

"My,my.. what a temper that kid have," Francis mused.

"I know.. she reminds me of Linda," Betty Jo said nostalgically.

"Yeah..." Francis opened the car door. "Anyway, welcome the new member of the family."

Linda walked out of the car, carrying something small, which was bundled up in a blanket. Betty Jo take a look at it and smile gently.

"Candace would be very excited," she murmured.

Linda laughed. "Yes, yes she will. Now, let's go tame that wild temper of her's"

"Which she'd gotten from you," Francis noted as they walked in.

Linda gave him a sweet smile. "I know."

They found Candace on the living room, glaring at the T.V. screen, her arms crossed tightly and her lips pouted. Linda and Francis laughed. She's so adorable.

"Candace?" Linda called softly. "Come here, honey"

Candace look at them with a glare that's so sharp it could have killed them. But when she saw the blanket in her mother's arms, she dropped the scowl and ran towards them.

"Is that her? My baby sister?"

"Baby brother," Linda corrected as she crouched down for Candace to see the baby boy in her arms.

Candace's face fell slightly  but she take a look at the baby. He look wrinkled and small. But he looks like Dad just the same. Candace wrinkled her nose.

"Why's he ugly?" she asked frankly, hands on hips and eyebrows raised.

Linda, Francis and Betty Jo laughed at her question. Francis put an arm around Candace.

"Honey, he's just like that because he just came out of mom's tummy. he'll turn cute after a few days."

Candace frowned. "Really?" She took another look at her brother. "What's his name?"

"Were still thinking about it," said Linda. "You have any idea, sweetie?"

Candace thought for a moment. She look at her brother and put a finger around his little hand. The baby tightened his hand on her finger and opened his big eyes. they're blue, like dad's but it's different. there's a strange sparkle in them. But of course, only Candace could see it. The baby seems to be staring straight at her. Suddenly, he smiled.

Candace, fascinated, smiled back. Right at that moment, something inside Candace changed.

"Hi, Phineas," she said.

"What did you called him?" Francis asked.

"Phineas."

"Why Phineas?"

Candace look up at her parents and smiled. The baby closes his eyes again and yawned, going back to his sleep. "'Cause he looks like one."

Francis and Linda smile. "Then Phineas it is."

All of them look at baby Phineas. Candace touched Phineas's cheek gently.

"You won't let me get bored, won't you Phineas?" she asked softly.

And it seems like Phineas heard her question, for even though he's sleeping, he smiled and nodded his head slightly. but of course, no one saw it.

Not even Candace.
yay!!!

I like this one soo much! see how Candace named Phineas? that's how Dan named him too! but if i was the one asked, i'd probably named him "Nacho"or "Tacos" or maybe "Chip"

and trust me, new born babies look ugly indeed. i've seen three new borns, (my little sis and two baby bro's) and my baby bro's just 10 months old, so, the memory of him being ugly is quite fresh on my mind.. but he's actually pretty cute now. i simply adore him. lol!

anyway, enjoy!!
